My question is concerning computers loosing the
Internet in July. I tried to go to the website listed, and only became
more confused. Would appreciate some assistance. Flora

The FBI went to court and got
the authority to take over DNS servers and reroute them to
“clean servers” that they can maintain temporarily. This was
a due to maleware known as DNS Catcher.
The malware is called DNS Changer and users are advised to visit this site for help. Leo says that DNS Changer has been around since 2007 and this represents “grotesque overreaction” on the part of the FBI and the judge who ordered action taken. You can go to the FBI Operation GhostClick site to see what the feds are doing to stop it, including temporary DNS servers to handle the traffic. Leo says that this is not the way to handle this, especially considering it’s a fairly minor infection. You don’t want government to modify how DNS works when users can keep their OS and security software up to date to cope with the infection.
Update your AVS. Run the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool. Run an Online Virus Scanner for a second opinion. Both Eset and Trend Micro have good online utilities for that. If you can’t get to it, you’ve got it. The best thing to do at this point, if you suspect you’re infected, is to back up your data and then reformat your hard drive, installing and updating Windows from a known good source.
